Recent activities we have held:

We had an incredibly busy month with our annual tractor run which raised £1,570.80 for RABI. In the evening, we hosted an After Tractor Run Do, which raised £2,864. The money raised was shared between RABI and Derby YFC.

We're also organising a trade stand at the Derbyshire County show this summer which is something the club haven't attended for many years.

With the recent club profits, we are looking at purchasing a marquee to use for more events and subsidising meetings for members, such as Go Karting.

Competitions we enjoy:

We've seen a fantastic uptake in competition participation this year, with nearly every competition throughout the year being filled.

Our success has been remarkable too! Grace, our club treasurer, secured an impressive fourth place in the national finals of the Senior Member of the Year competition. Additionally, two of our members represented Derbyshire in the East Midlands final of senior Public Speaking, achieving second place.

At the National Stockjudging Finals last November during the English Winter Fair, three of our members excelled in competitions involving beef, pig, and lamb, both live and carcass. All three members performed well, landing spots in the top 15.

Looking ahead, we are excited about the County Rally in a few weeks. We have strong competitors in every competition.

Our work in the community:

We started off with our annual bonfire and fireworks night which always draws in a big crowd locally, this raised £700 profit for the club.

Following this we held our annual Past vs Present Members’ Darts nights, which raised £725 for this year’s chosen charity RABI.

For the East Midlands Area Competitions weekend in March the club cycled over 100 miles from Derby to Skegness raising money to help a past member fund her cancer treatment, which raised £2,025.

We are planning our annual charity ploughing and hedge cutting match for September. After this event, we're hoping the total raised for charity this year should be around £7-8000.

Why we are Club of the Month:

This year we've been incredibly busy, and it looks like it will be one of the most successful fundraising years for the club.

The whole club is like one big family that opens its doors to absolutely anyone. Derby YFC join together and work as one team to organise our various fundraising events to help those in need. We pride ourselves on hosting diverse meetings and making YFC an enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone.

Many plans are being made for future events and meetings, and we look forward to continuing our success.
